Based on the famous 500/1 violin bass, most notably played by Sir Paul McCartney since 1961, the Ignition series brings this iconic design to a genuinely affordable price. The "Cavern" designation refers to the close spacing of the two pickups near the neck, delivering an authentic, warm Hofner tone with even more low end.

A fully hollow body with a spruce top and flamed maple back and sides delivers a surprisingly rich, resonant acoustic character, while the incredibly light body makes it a genuine relief for players suffering from "bass player's shoulder." A glued maple neck with rosewood or Jatoba fingerboard offers a slim profile, all finished with the classic Hofner control panel and "tea cup" knobs for authentic vintage styling.
